Are automatic cars less economical?

When it comes to choosing your next car, you need to consider what factors are important for you. It may be that looks and engine performance are the main things or perhaps it’s more safety and comfort or maybe boot space and leg room. Each of us have our own idea of the perfect car for us and know what it is we need out of a vehicle at that time. Some people need to have a large family car but it’s not really what they want so they may end up getting a second car that they can use at other times. You also need to decide on what sort of engine you would like. Do you want a petrol or diesel, what engine size should you go for...

For example, on some services on petrol cars, you may need to have the spark plugs replaced, but this does not need to be done every year. If you have hardly done any miles since...

Is your car due it’s MOT during lockdown?

With England entering its second lockdown this week, many people are wondered what the rules and regulations are regarding MOT’s. During the first lockdown, MOT’s were extended by 6 months giving people plenty of time to get them done at a later stage. This is because many of the car garages were shut or running with a very limited number of staff. This lockdown is slightly different as although there may still be some staff shortages, car garages are open and still doing MOT’s. The government have not allowed for a second extension on the MOT’s this time so it is imperative that it is carried out on time. Ideally you want to try and get your MOT done early rather than later. MOT’s can be done one month in...
